Birthday crowns

Well Lovely baby is nearly 2! I cant believe it but there’s no stopping time so I know its going to happen…

For this birthday (teddy bear’s picnic party at the farm to look forward to!) We decided it was time to make her a birthday crown. This tradition is so lovely. The crown can be kept the same every year or changed with each birthday. I  decided to try to build one to last so I’m going to add a star each year – you can see the two for two years already on the right.

Crowns are great (coz really wouldn’t we all want one one our birthday!) also quite simple to make. For this one cut the felt into a crown shape- I’ve used the fold on the bottom to get away with one less hem. Then sew the top with whichever stitch you would like. The back is held with some elastic to give it  bit of grip and growth room. Decorated with pearls and lace I hope Lovely Baby will love it – I do!! ;)
