At lovely girls party there will be one baby. She’s only one month old so I thought rather than a bear ear headband like the older kids she should really have a soft baby band.
To make: I just got some elasticated material with a one way stretch. Cut a lenght about 20 inches long about 2 inches wide. Popped the bear ears on the right side of the fabric and folded length ways to hem. Hemmed. Turned out. Sewed the two ends together.
It looks really cute… Here’s hoping little baby bear likes it!

This is a really cute – very quick project. It took about an hour from start to finish. I used one of lovely hubbies old shirts (from when he was 17 with long hair and evidently had a Miami vice crush!) Sadly I strayed over the 30 min max project time for Eden – so she does not love it. Point of fact if I ask her if she’d like to wear it she says ‘no’ and shakes her head! So (because I love it!) keep on offering it to her – with different bears in – and sometimes she actually likes it!
Guess I’ll try making a pink one and she if she more interested in that!!
Eden’s strop-strop aside this is a great one if they have a favourite toy that they want to take everywhere – also I’m told if you have another baby then they love copying mummy and taking baby everywhere with them!
To make you will need three bits of material. Two for the straps (about 8cm wide and 90cm long) and another for the body of the rucksack about 40cm wide and 90cm long) fold the big bit in half along its length (so now it’s about 20cm x 90cm) fold up a 20cm pouch, cut the corners here (two little triangles about 4cm) theses will be leg holes for bears/dolly. Hem around all but the top of this piece. Add some wadding or foam to the back piece (through that open top) so that the piece against babies back will be padded. Now make your straps (fold the 8cm in half to 4cm – hem and then turn out) add these straps to the top of the rucksack and sew these to the top as you hem this edge. Get some poppers put two on the pouch bit so that baby can open and close the rucksack themselves. Add two to the straps so you can make the straps as short or long as needed to fit baby.
Phew. Done.
