Cherry blossom

Laat week I picked a little blossom to decorate our nature table. Totally beautiful and smelled great but I was a bit sad how quickly it died so I decided rather than pick more all the time though spring i would just make some felt blossoms and that way they’d look lovely throughout spring.

And they turned out really well…

To make:
Cut pink felt to flower shape
With dark pink thread sew the centre and then each leaf seam to make a star shape, pull thread tight to give the petals some movement.
Next get green felt and cut two or three leaf shapes
Sew to the back of the blossom
Glue your blossoms to the tree.
You can also add unfurling leaves by just cutting green felt and wrapping the leaves together.

You might also notice some felted eggs in our spring house… We’re gearing up for easter egg hunts already….. Ohh cant wait…

Really love those tiger feet.

Thats right, thats right, I really love those tiger feet!

Lovely girl is loving the tiger in her bedtime story at the mo, so we thought she’d enjoy a little pair of tiger slippers – and she does!

Getting ready for Christmas

Yes I’ve made my list and checked it twice and I’ve started making. Over the coming months I’ll be posting the projects I’m intending to give as this years pressies – my rules this year are not just that everything will be hand made but that I will use supplies already in the cupboard rather than spending a ton of money having the buy loads of crafting goodies! My extended family has a ton of birthdays in December so the list is really bloooooodly long – but here we are – at least I’ve started!!

First on my list are these wonderful children’s booties. I found a wonderful blog called purl bee (http://www.purlbee.com/felt-baby-shoes/) Its a great tutorial as as my first attempt I’m pleased. Although I’m hoping I will get better with more practice!

Autumn Felt Door hanging

More felt projects. Yes I’m addicted. I’m loving this needle felting stuff. I was on the hunt for another projects to use up some wool – so I made lovely girl this Lovely door hanger. Its just an Autumn Scene, finished with a couple of birdies and hung from a shorty piece of dowel. Its really cute and I’m hoping to make a Spring, Summer and Winter one for her too – them we can make it part of a changing season ritual!
